Basketball Training

Ages: 5-17 years
Day: Sunday

5-6 years- 10:00 am to 11:00 am
7-9 years- 11:10 am to 12:10 pm
10-12 years- 12:20 pm to 1:20 pm
13-17 years- 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm

Meet the Instructor:
Aaron is a Hesperia native who played for Hesperia High School, earning First Team All-League, Athlete of the Year, and Citrus Belt Athlete of the Year! After high school, Aaron went on to play Junior basketball at Lower Columbia Community College, earning Co-Freshman of the Year and First Team All-League. He is also a former Division 1 and Division 2 basketball player who played at Southern University A&M winning a SWAC Champion (2012-2013) and Cal State University Los Angeles earning the Coaches Award. Aaron also has professional experience playing the Drew League and in Mexico. He is a former elementary school head coach and USA Basketball Gold Certified Coach. Aaron has over 6 year's experience training children ages 7-17, college, and professional athletes.
Coach Aaron created A2R Performance Development to bring a platform of affordable basketball skills development training to the High Desert and focuses on teaching children on the court skills as well as off the court life skills.

A2R Summer Basketball Camp
The basketball camp will consist of basketball training, games and live scrimmages. Participants must be capable of being with instructor and following instructions without the help of parents/guardians. Participants must have some basketball experience due to the duration of the camp.

Roller Skating Lessons

Ages: 1 and up
Day: Fridays
Length: 4 weeks
Location: Power Play Center, 10770 "I" Avenue
Fee: $40
Instructor: Nicole Marney
Beginners
Time: 4:00 - 4:30 pm
The Basic Beginners Class Includes:
- How to get up properly
- Using arms for balance
- Marching before rolling
- Rolling into "Scissors"
- Balance while in "Cannonball"
- Balance on one foot- standing still and rolling "Flamingo"
- Stopping- "T Stop"
- Starting- "T Start"
Once all elements have been mastered in the Basic Beginners Class, a skater will be promoted to the Intermediate Class.
Intermediate
Time: 4:30 - 5:00 pm
The Intermediate Class Includes:
- Marching backward
- Marching backward into rolling
- Rolling backward in "Scissors"
- One foot balance toward "Flamingo"
- Two-foot jump "Kangaroo jump"
- Two-foot spin
- Shot the duck
- Mohawk turn
- Three turn
Your own roller skates are required, if you do not have any, they will be available to rent for $3 at Power Play Center.
Fitness and Fun Exercise Program
A workout for men and women to stay fit and increase strength and endurance while relieving stress in a friendly, social atmosphere. The class includes low impact exercises, line dances, Latin moves, waltzes, step, strength training, and flexibility with equipment provided. All performed to each person’s individual ability level. Music includes Big Band to Ballroom, Latin to Country, Belafonte to Beyonce.
The instructor is National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified; CPR and First Aid Certified.
Age: 18 & older
Days: Monday and Friday
Time: 9:00 - 10:00 a.m.
Starts: First Monday of the month
Location: Percy Bakker Community Center, 9333 'E' Avenue
Fee: $21.00 per month or $3.00 per class

Volleyball Lessons

Learn the proper skills for all aspects of the game of volleyball. Positive reinforcement and repetitive drills with proper techniques build an athlete with skills, self-discipline, teamwork and self-confidence. Let our top notch instructor help you get better at the sport you love!
Age: 8 to 17 years
Time: 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.
Day(s): Tuesday and/or Thursday
Length: 4 weeks
Starts: First Tuesday or Thursday of each month
Location: Rick Novack Community Center, 13558 Palm Street in Gymnasium
Fee: 4 classes $40.00 per participant OR
8 classes $80.00 per participant.

Emerge Basketball Camp
Emerge Basketball Camp
Ages 11-14 years - 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Ages 15-18 years - 4:45 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Fee is $100.00 per participant

**Participants must bring their own basketball**
Coach Rodrick Solomon, who is USA Basketball Gold Licensed, AAU certified, coach-up certified, CIF varsity high school and former assistant college coach, will provide youth development skill levels for ages 11-18 years old. Skill levels will range from Introductory to Advanced based on player's experience and will include:
- Ball handling and dribbling
- Footwork and body control
- Passing and receiving
- Rebounding
- Shooting form and mechanics
- 1 on 1 defense/team defense
- Decision making
- Court awareness
- Lay-up drills
- Shooting drills
- Motion offense
- Live play
Competitive play, players will be allowed to compete during the camp to hone in on the skills they have been learning.
Coach Solomon's goal is to get players prepared to play on their middle school, high school, grade school, or youth basketball teams.
