Lime Street Pool is staffed with certified lifeguards.

Cost: 

$3.00 per person, per session.
Please have exact change.

Weekends Only - 
1:00 to 2:30 p.m.

Pool Rules

Children under 48" must be accompanied and supervised by an adult - NO horseplay - NO glass - NO toys - NO electronic devices - NO flotation devices  - Food & drink only in designated area - All children must take a swim test to enter the deep end. 
District Code of Conduct and other rules apply.

Swimsuit and fee are required for entry into the gated pool area (for swimmers and non-swimmers alike).
Males 6 yrs. +
Must have shorts with a drawstring and liner.

Females 6 yrs. +
Must wear a swimsuit or shorts (must meet the same requirements as males) with a sports bra (may not be white or see-through).

Children 5 yrs. & under

Must wear a swimsuit with a liner (drawstring is not required but must have an elastic waist). Swim diapers are required for children that aren't potty trained. 

Any swim attire that is offensive to the general public will not be allowed.

We reserve the right to refuse admittance to anyone. We are not responsible for any lost or stolen articles.

All rentals must be booked at least two weeks prior to the requested date.

 

Pool Rental Facility Use Rules:

  • No diving in red deck zone areas.
  • No running, pushing, splashing, or other horseplay.
  • No foul language or misbehavior.
  • No eating or drinking in the pool deck area.
    • Food and drinks are only allowed in the picnic area.
  • No glass containers or alcohol
  • No smoking.
  • No hanging or playing on the pool rope.
  • Swim attire only in the pool.
    • Appropriate swim attire:
      • Infants are allowed to wear "swim diapers." Diapers not designed as swim diapers are not allowed. 
      • Children under the age of five must wear a swimsuit with a liner; a drawstring is not required. The swimsuit, however, must have an elastic waist.
      • Females six years of age or older must wear a swimsuit. Females will be allowed to wear shorts over their swimsuit (these shorts do not require a liner). If a female wishes to swim in a sports bra and shorts, they do so as long as the bra is not white or see-through. Shorts worn with a sports bra must meet the same short requirements as the males.
      • Males six years of age and older must wear shorts with a drawstring and a liner. If the shorts do not have a liner, underwear may be substituted (this does not include boxers).
      • Any swim attire that is offensive to the general public will not be allowed. 
      • Cut-offs, T-shirts, and other additional clothing are not allowed in the pool unless approved by a supervisor.
  • All children under 48" must be accompanied and supervised by an adult. 
  • Pool toys, floatation devices, and goggles are permitted (the lifeguard's decision is final).
  • Music is permitted in the picnic area at a moderate level; electrical outlets are not provided (the lifeguard's decision is final).
  • Barbeques are not permitted.
  • The lifeguard's decision is final.

Wading Pool :

  • No children under six years of age are allowed in this pool.
  • Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
  • No jumping or diving in the wading pool.

Diving Area:

  • No flips or back dives are allowed.
  • Make sure the diving area is clear before diving.
  • Do not dive until the person before you reach the ladder.
  • Swim out of the diving area immediately after diving.

Other Information

Classes may be canceled at the Park District's discretion. Classes with less than four registered participants may be canceled. Participants do not receive a certificate of completion unless able to successfully perform the skills. The intent of the program is to make participants water safe. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to register their child for the appropriate class.

2023 Learn to Swim Course Descriptions

Registration is available online only, beginning May 1st, 2023.

Parent & Child Aquatics: 6 months to 3 years of age. Class size 8 max.Provides experiences and activities for children to: 1. Establish expectations for adult supervision. 2. Learn how to enter and exit the water in a safe manner. 3. Explore submerge to the mouth, nose, and eyes. 4. Explore buoyancy on front and back positions. 5. Glide on the front and back with assistance. 7. Perform combined stroke on front and back with assistance. 8. Learn how to play safely. 9. Experience wearing a U.S. Coast Guard- approved life jacket.
Level 1: 4 to 5 years of age/ approx. 6 years of age. Class size 8 max.Orients children to the aquatic environment and helps them gain basic aquatic skills. 1. Enter and exit the water using ladder, steps, or side. 2. Blow bubbles through mouth and nose. 3. Open eyes underwater and retrieve submerged objects. 4. Front and back glides and floats. 5. Roll from front to back and back to front. 6. Alternating arm and leg actions on front and back. 7. Recover to vertical position. 8. Combined, alternating and simultaneous leg actions on front and back.
Level 2: It is recommended that participants complete and successfully pass Level 1 or are approx. 7-8 years of age with no fear of the water. Class size 8 max.Gives participants success with fundamental skills while progressing to guided practice in deeper water.1. Enter and exit water using ladder, steps, or side with emphasis on jumping in from the side. 2. Fully submerge and hold breath. 3. Open eyes underwater and retrieve submerged objects. 4. Front, jellyfish, and tuck floats. 5. Front and back glides and floats. 6. Roll from front to back and back to front. 7. Combined, alternating and simultaneous leg actions on front and back.
Level 3: It is recommended that participants complete and successfully pass Level 2 and are able to swim the width of the pool with no assistance. Class size 8 max.1.Swim underwater. 2. Tread water using arm and hand actions. 3. Change direction of travel while swimming on front or back. 4. Combined arm and leg actions on front and back. 5. Finning arm action. 6. Introduction to the development of the front crawl , back crawl, and elementary backstroke.
Level 4: It is recommended that participants complete and successfully pass Level 3 or are able to swim the width of the pool with no assistance. Class size 8 max.Develops confidence in the skills learned and improves other aquatics skills with more advanced coordination and refinement of strokes as skills develop. 1. Headfirst entries from the side in compact and stride positions. 2. Swim underwater. 3. Feet first surface dive. 4. Survival swimming. 5. Front crawl and backstroke open turns. 6. Tread water using two different kicks. 7. Front and back crawl, elementary backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke, and butterfly. 8. Flutter and dolphin kicks on back.
Introduction to Swim Team: It is recommended that participants complete and successfully pass Level 4 and are able to swim the length of the pool with no assistance. Class size 16 max.1. Stroke refinement to increase ease, efficiency, power, and smoothness over a greater distance while swimming front crawl, back crawl, butterfly, elementary backstroke, breaststroke, and sidestroke. 2. Open turns, flip turns, sidestroke turn, and butterfly turn. 3. Introduction to swimming for fitness. Additional requirements: 1x swim assessment the Saturday before each session (only required 1x and not for each session enrolled). A 1x USA Swim Fee required for participation - $20.00/ 12-months. Course is offered by Desert Aquatics.
